Studio 1 has had a great first week!  Students have been answering the question...

How can we, as artists, be safe in the studio?

We brainstormed a lot of ideas about art studio safety and studio 1 was right on with their suggestions!!!

Some of their suggestions were to never run in the art studio, not draw on other people's art, never put art supplies in their mouths and to be kind to everyone!

Sounds like a plan to me!  It is so much more meaningful when students create their own classroom norms.  They remember them a lot easier and they feel vested in the process which in turn increases the likelihood that they will abide by them!

Studio 1 also designed their portfolios!  We discussed how a portfolio is a place where artists collect their work!  Studio 1 was super excited about this! Pictures to come!!!
